Harrison is Mutation Motorsport’s second confirmed driver for the championship alongside fellow teenage talent Josh Steed, and he will make his Ginetta racing bow in the Pro Class with three years of one-make Ford Fiesta competition under his belt.

The 18 year old, who resides in Billericay in Essex, secured an impressive total of seven race wins and sixteen podium finishes across the last two campaigns and finished in sixth position in the final championship standings in 2018.

Danny Harrison: “After racing front wheel drive machinery for three years, I wanted to up my challenge in 2019 and try something different. The Ginetta G40 is a great car to drive, a “proper” car where as a driver you have to be physically and mentally fit to get the best from them.

“The Ginetta GT5 Challenge is a great place to start on the Ginetta ladder, with massive grids and great competition, mixed with superb television coverage and big packages to race on. As soon as I saw the GT5’s race, I automatically wanted to get on the grid. I can’t wait.”

Packed grids and close racing makes the Ginetta GT5 Challenge a popular entry-level championship for many aspiring GT racers. In 2019, the series will join the British GT Championship at five meetings and make two outings on the British Touring Car Championship support bill.
